Angular Abode

Built By - Executive Living Homes

This expansive home has some beautiful bespoke details. The client requested angles and these have been incorporated into the design with angled stone facade walls and custom joinery. This house was designed for a family of five.

The home features Weathertex panels used on the exterior as well as the interior. Just joinery have done a fantastic job of turning our complex joinery designs into a reality. The home also features a custom designed and built kitchen by Sublime Architectural Interiors.

Inverted Abode
(New Home)
Built By - Brad Kirkpatrick Builder

A family home with ‘Easy Living’ as the key element in design.  The design incorporates the need for space and separation for the family members while allowing good interaction within the common spaces.  The façade sets the home apart from others in the street with a stunning inverted truss entry portico which appears to float only supported by steel columns protruding from the walls beneath.

The use of modern low maintenance products gives the home a striking commercial look.  The home is set on an angular section of land and this has formed the basis of the built form.  While appearing quite modest from the street the home develops into a spacious layout with raked ceiling to create volume.

The re-design has given this home a new multifunctional area with garage below and a new street presence achieved by a new entry deck, the angled stairs serve dual-street frontages.  The extension ties in the existing pole home construction and is cleverly connected to the existing deck via an angled deck extension with rooflines complimenting the existing facade.

The rumpus room is a truly multifunctional area, it includes a lounge area that converts to a guest bedroom and it also includes a study space for both adults and children, along with a small kitchenette / bar area with spectacular views over the surrounding area and down to the pool below.

Units on Evans
(New Multi-Residential)
Built By - Envy Homes

This unit development gives the appearance of individual homes on their own allotments.  A modern cottage style was adopted with timber balconies to the front and dutch gable features to the roof.  Flood level constraints were used to advantage with a high clearance carports which double as covered outdoor areas.   The blockwork subfloor walls extend up for the front columns and on the southern sides to give a subtle modern influence.  The end result has been a positive addition to the streetscape; the units while maintaining a heritage look have a fresh and modern feel about them.
