RIVEIR HUIS
NEW HOME
Positioned on an expansive rural site overlooking the river, this residence is a contemporary interpretation of the modern country home. The architectural form is anchored by a central raftered roof, creating a strong linear axis that extends from the entry through to the rear entertaining terrace and pool. This vaulted spine establishes a sense of scale, procession and cohesion throughout the home. The planning strategy is deliberately linear, with the primary living spaces arranged along the central axis to maximise connection to landscape and outlook. The master suite occupies one wing, creating privacy and retreat, while the secondary bedrooms and rumpus are positioned to the opposite side, allowing clear zoning between shared and private domains.
Every space has been oriented to celebrate the river frontage. Carefully positioned glazing frames long views while encouraging natural cross-ventilation, capturing prevailing breezes and reinforcing a seamless indoor–outdoor relationship. Material selections and detailing reflect a refined country aesthetic — balancing warmth and texture with clean contemporary lines. The result is a home that feels grounded in its rural context while delivering a sophisticated, modern living environment.
