With a passion for renovating, the clients wanted to upgrade their small existing, two bedroom one bathroom miner’s cottage into a more comfortable four bedroom, two bathroom home. They also desired an outdoor entertainment area to suit the North Queensland lifestyle, which was to be shaded throughout the afternoon. Situated in West Mackay, which is known for its heritage and homes originating from the Californian bungalow style, it was important to maintain the enchanting Queenslander miner’s cottage street appeal and incorporate a more modern look to the rear.
