VERDIGRIS
RENOVATION
LEAD BUILDING DESIGNER: Tamica Lewis
LEAD INTERIOR DESIGNER: Bethany Davy
Step into a world of elegance and sophistication with this stunning modern art deco cottage that we call Verdigris. The attention to detail is evident in every room, from the statement lighting to the bold brass features. Overall, this renovated 1920’s cottage is a testament to our designers, showcasing the power of design to transform a space into a work of art.
Our team’s goal with this house was to renovate and transform an old 1920’s cottage into a modern art deco masterpiece. A fusion of the old and the new, combining the historic charm of the original cottage with the sleek and stylish elements of art deco. Storage within the home was sparse, so it was important to design the cabinetry with maximum storage space while also thinking about the details of the cabinetry to create a unique art deco style.
The deep, rich colour of the cabinetry contrasts with the polished brass, creating a striking visual effect. The dark black Japan timber floors are another standout feature that adds depth and texture to the space. The almost black colour of the floors creates a dramatic backdrop for the other design elements in the home, while the natural grain of the timber adds a sense of warmth and natural beauty.
